Every year hundreds of New Yorkers wind their way through the streets of the Big Apple to celebrate Easter. The traditional parade dates back to the civil war period and features a host of colourful costumes and extravagant Easter bonnets.
The festivities begin at 10am on Fifth Ave at 49th Street, near the Rockefeller Center and St Patrick's Church (a beautiful 19th-century gothic building) and ends around 55th St.
Anyone can join in the march but, with viewing platforms situated next to St Patrick's, it is just as much fun to stand and admire the outrageous outfits on display.
