Commissioned by the 33rd Hong Kong Arts Festival, Cancer Chong's The French Kiss receives its première at the Drama Theatre of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts (HKAPA). Starring Lee-Chun-chow and Faye Leong, directed by Gabrial Lee and performed in Cantonese with English surtitles, it brings to the fore contemporary morals when a pastor is accused by his secretary of sexual harassment.
Described as a tragedy that starts with a French kiss, the resultant fall-out after the pastor's arrest sees his religious career destroyed. What happens when the man and his former secretary meet again after a few years?
Recipient of the Best Playwright Award at the 12th Hong Kong Drama Awards, Cancer Chong has created a new piece about humanity and truth.
